Head of Finance/Deputy FD
Yorkshire
£80-90k plus benefits
Due to rapid expansion, our client is looking to strengthen their existing finance structure with a newly appointed Head of Finance/Deputy FD. You will operate as an integral member of the Senior Management Team and have responsibility for a small team.
The role will be expected to bring a best-in-class finance approach, as well as driving professional development standards.
Ideally, it requires an energetic business partner who will be a trusted support to their Heads of Department and oversee all aspects of finance control, including the introduction of budgets, capital management and cash flow forecasts. In addition to this, they will be expected to produce annual accounts and returns, keeping the business regularly informed about legal obligations, ensuring financial compliance and risk management across all the Finance Admin function, as well as responsibility for payroll, pensions, tax, VAT returns and payments to HMRC.
Early on , there will be a focus on cost efficiency within the company, with the intent to look more closely at strategic projects, product, and company wide profitability. There is an immediate need to improve areas around analysis and reporting, to enhance improved business decision making, providing accurate and timely finance reports to the business heads, as well as playing a key role in optimising profit.
Person Criteria:
- The role requires a high calibre, seasoned finance professional, who is suitably qualified with a financial qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) and brings the required experience.
- Must bring a minimum of five years of senior finance/accounting experience of someone straight from practice, who could be looking for their first move into industry.
- Ideally, sound technical understanding of group consolidation and reporting.
- Experienced when driving change and transformation across financial standards, whilst improving management of cash flow and working capital.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and brings the ability to work independently.
- Experienced of line management responsibility and comfortable when managing a small team.
- Ability to streamline and improve operational finance processes
- Proactive and clear stakeholder management and engagement.
- Exceptional communication skills across all levels while maintaining high levels of customer service to internal customers.
- Described as an analytical and critical thinker, who is well versed to driving data to drive decision making.
- Must possess strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
