About to embark on a new phase in its history, the airport will grow capacity from 28 million passengers to 43 million passengers a year through an airport wide transformation programme expanding the terminal. The programme will add a three- bay extension to the airport's terminal building for a bigger departures lounge, more shops and restaurants, more check-in desks, and a larger security hall with “next- generation” scanners creating up to 5,000 new jobs.

The role
As Finance Director for London Stansted Airport, you will play a fundamental role in the development and delivery of the overall airport strategy by providing dynamic financial and commercial leadership operating as a critical partner to the Airport
Managing Director. As the airport is about to embark on an exciting journey to increase overall passenger capacity to 43 million per year from the current 28 million per year, you and your Finance team will be a key influencer in the expected growth and service delivery agenda. As a key member of the London Stansted Executive Team, you will drive and encourage a high-performance culture not only with your peers, but with the wider Group Senior Leadership Team with opportunities to work across the different airports (and our group business CAVU) and to be involved in MAG’s exciting wider corporate growth.
To achieve this, some of your key deliverables will include:
- Provide strategic insights and guidance on commercial revenue and financial risks & opportunities for the Airport including creation and support on viability of initiatives
- Develop an excellent Finance Business Partnering model, building innovation and resilience
- Accountable for business planning, forecasting and financial performance review processes, whilst putting in place plans & actions to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities
- Collaborate seamlessly with Group Functions and your counterparts at Manchester and East Midlands Airports
- Key role model, driving positive cultural change and performance improvement in your team, whilst motivating through an extensive period of change and transformation
What will make you successful in the role?
The successful candidate will be an accomplished Finance Leader at a similar Director/Senior level (fully qualified) across a variety of sectors (infrastructure, retail, travel related, digital/tech, FMCG etc) with experience in a large organisation, ideally FTSE100/FTSE250. Adept at operating, communicating & influencing in a matrix structure across multiple business lines & streams, with an emphasis at influencing at Executive, Board, and Investor level. Additionally, you will have a demonstrable track record of leading high performing teams, whilst constantly embedding a culture of development, mentoring, and coaching to ensure an engaged and delivery focussed team.
