Job Title: Senior Accountant (6-month FTC)Location: Colchester, EssexDepartment: Finance Reports To: Financial Controller
Job Summary:
My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support management decisions.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Strong knowledge of R2R would be preferred
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Microsoft Excel.
