Our Finance team not only take great pride to understand the value in the financial management of these projects, they ensure everything is compliant with the National Audit Office to help deliver year end accounts to Parliament.

Striking the perfect balance

Creating value in your work

Lead the financial reporting function of our vital global organisation

When you join us in this important, senior role in the Finance team, you’ll build an extremely motivated, high performing team, provide the inspirational leadership required to ensure high quality and accurate financial reporting, and oversee the delivery of the annual statutory accounts and external auditing process. Taking responsibility for the financial content of our annual report,  ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation and accounting standards, you’ll also act as the key source of expert technical accounting advice relating to all our financial and management accounts.

But your work won’t stop here – among your other key responsibilities will be taking the lead in the delivery of the strategic aims of our organisation’s financial reporting, engaging with stakeholders to develop solutions which align to current and future business needs. You’ll also oversee a monthly review of all accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, and identify, monitor and mitigate risks in relation to financial reporting and internal control.

Use your expert accountancy skills with a business that keeps the country secure

With an accounting qualification gained from one of the main professional bodies (e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA) and significant post-qualification experience, you’ll be a motivating team leader and possess an excellent track record of financial management and control. You should have well developed knowledge of accounting principles, the Government Financial Reporting Manual and  International Financial Reporting Standards, and a functional understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and general ledger systems.

We’ll look for experience of month end/year end close, the preparation of financial and management account statements and the statutory audit process. Your superb communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to develop positive relationships with all our stakeholders, and you’ll also be an excellent problem solver. Recent experience of working with the National Audit Office would be desirable, as would an understanding of Trading Fund accounting, knowledge of the Whole of Government Accounts process and managing business change.

Discover the support you need to grow and develop your career

But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
