Hays Finance are delighted to be partnering with a large logistics company who are looking to add to their finance team through a period of growth.
Your new role
As Management Accountant you will be working alongside the Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance and responsible for high-profit business units across the region, supporting growth projects and driving sustainable financial performance.
Main responsibilities include
- Proactively supporting the growth of the business through provision of financial modelling and commercial insight
- Supporting the prioritisation of investment and business cases with a focus on maximising return on investment
- Promote a data-led approach to discussions with the divisional teams
- Support the business in commercial negotiations with customers & suppliers
- Reviewing customer & supplier terms and conditions highlighting risks & opportunities
- Managing the financial performance of the business, including financial reporting (Monthly, divisional and group) and forecasting
- Develop an understanding of the funding arrangements and control cash in line with budgets/forecasts/convenants
- Develop effective relationships across the Divisional leadership team
- Maintain appropriate controls and ensure adherence to delegated authorities, continually evolve governance structures as the business grows
- Seek to continually improve processes and drive efficiency into financial procedures
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified Account towards the end of the studies
- Proven track record in finance business partnering
- Capability to operate cross function
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP
- Commercially aware with a proven ability to identify and drive profit/cash improvement initiatives
- Strong planning & forecasting skills
- Able to partner with non-financial leaders
- Strong analytical skills
