£50k-£70k depending on experience 

The Financial Controller has responsibility for all aspects of day-to-day financial control, with a focus on accounting controls, financial management and reporting. The role requires a key desire to understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and governance, and to influence the design of systems, processes, and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

Working closely with the Finance Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for producing timely and accurate management information, managing 2 direct reports, and developing the Finance team, covering Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Financial and Management Accounting. The Financial Controller is responsible for business partnering closely with other departments to develop and enhance existing processes and structures and understand transactions.

Essential experience and qualities:

• Minimum of 5+ years’ professional experience within a manufacturing, construction or commercial organisation.
• Must have Enterprise level ERP experience – SAP is preferable.
• Have in-depth GAAP technical knowledge with experience in evaluating and advising on business initiatives, projects and complex transactions.
• Strong background in accounting policies, consolidation and monthly close process.
• Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership, is organised, possesses excellent analytical and problem- solving skills and is able to deliver on tight deadlines.
• Should be able to support on audit and internal projects in a hands-on and dynamic way.

Essential qualifications:

• Graduate level education with demonstrable academic success.
• Recognised professional qualification or chartered accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
