Your new company:
I am currently recruiting a Financial Controller role for a Scale-Up FMCG brand Chain. They are a privately-owned business that produces a range of culinary products, having launched their product nationally in many well-known supermarkets and their online platform. They've won prestigious awards for their products and recently partnered with a well-known and established food supplier.
Your new role
They are currently growing their team and now looking for a Financial Controller. This role will also be responsible for future junior hires within the finance function as the company expands. The role liaises closely with the production and sales teams, whilst owning control processes and commercial analysis. This role is granted full financial scope in a close relationship with the Head of Finance, CFO and charismatic MD who is driving the business to embark on further development avenues.
Key duties:
- Manage the Finance Team of 3
- Monthly Management Accounts preparation, statutory accounts and audit completion.
- Responsible for the Annual Budgets, ensuring variances to budget are reviewed and actioned
- Management of cash and working capital across the business through accurate and timely cashflow reporting
- Working closely with the Sales and Supply team to ensure appropriate reporting and controls are in place
- System and process improvement
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate would be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with several years' of industry experience, ideally in the food/drinks/FMCG industry. You will be able to bring quality of execution to a vibrant and forward-thinking team, alongside strong knowledge of preparing financial reports, forecasting and budgeting and ERP system implementation. Varied experience in managing the AP/AR, banking treasury and internal reporting processes would also be advantageous as you would also be managing the junior finance personnel and have full responsibility for the commercial growth of the business. Legal and operational experience would also be advantageous as this role will include ad hoc projects and senior exposure.
What you'll get in return
A competitive salary is on offer of £65,000-£70,000, with a healthy bonus and development potential. This is a real opportunity to establish a career within a growing and successful business which has strong affiliation with an extremely well regarded global supply chain. You will have close exposure to senior management and great opportunities for progression.
