Your new company
I am working with a leading company in the manufacturing industry, based in Blackburn which is starting to grow considerably, following a successful few years. Due to this growth, they are expanding their current finance team and now require an Assistant Accountant to join them permanently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic team.
Your new role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Director, taking full control of bookkeeping and updating financial reports. Your responsibilities will include dealing with supplier queries, negotiating prices and terms, processing purchase and sales orders, and managing credit control. You will also be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register, preparing monthly management packs, and completing quarterly VAT returns. Additionally, you will manage ledgers, handle accruals and prepayments, and provide financial support as needed. This is a full time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, with an optional early Friday finish.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need at least three years of experience in an accounts role and an AAT qualification (or equivalent). Proficiency in Sage 50 or 200 and Excel is essential. You should be organised, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is crucial.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a salary up to £30,000 based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a health benefit scheme, 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays), and a qualifying pension scheme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to expand on their skill set and progress within Finance. You will work closely with a successful FD, who will provide training and support and heaps of opportunity for you to take on further work.
If you are a proactive and detail-oriented professional looking to advance your career in finance, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
