Financial Controller

A successful and growing SME business with a turnover in excess of £25m based in the Portsmouth area is looking to hire an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis.  This role is based 4 days per week in the office and offers a clear progression path to become Finance Director for the right candidate.  Reporting to the Finance Director and with clear visibility to the Senior Leadership Team, the Financial Controller will:

Duties of the Financial Controller Role:

• Oversee/design and implement Financial Controls to ensure that the organisation is best placed to minimalise any unnecessary losses
• Mentor and develop a small finance team
• Oversee the production of the monthly/quarterly management accounts to be reviewed by the Finance Director
• Engage with the stakeholders across 
• Work alongside the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team in providing commercial and strategic acumen to drive the business forward 

Requirements of the Financial Controller Role:

• ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
• Ambition to become a Finance Director
• 5-10 years PQE
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to mentor staff
• Proven commercial acumen within medium-sized companies.
