Elevation Accountancy & Finance are pleased to be partnering exclusively with a key client based in Goole as they look to recruit a Group Systems & Reporting Accountant into their team on a 15 month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity. This is a key role within the team and so to allow for an appropriate handover, the successful candidate will need to be available to start before the end of July 2021.

As part of a small Group Finance team, the Group Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the Group's financial reporting database, and co-ordinating the associated consolidation processes, and the production of key internal financial reports.

The main duties will include: -

* To co-ordinate the Group's monthly financial consolidation process within the BPC database, liaising with regional finance teams across the Group
* Quarterly forecast and annual budget processes within BPC
* To prepare accurate internal Group financial reports to monthly deadlines, including management accounts and the financial content of presentations to the Group's Executive management team
* To maintain and update the BPC financial reporting database, acting as the Group Finance systems expert, working with the IT function as required
* To support/lead any projects undertaken in relation to global finance systems as required, at both Group and divisional level where local resources are insufficient
* To support the Group Financial Controller and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis in their delivery of the Group's financial management requirements
* To maintain and provide global training and guidance for users of the BPC database
* To assist with the production of annual report disclosures
* Authority to make decisions relating to the specific areas which they own, with guidance from the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis as and when required
* To proactively suggest improvements to the Group's financial processes which they operate or to which they are exposed (and to agree these improvements and their implementation with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis)
* To be able to effectively co-ordinate and manage global processes with Finance teams worldwide (and IT if necessary for project work)
* To liaise with various departments across the business to solve problems with a Group wide impact
* To build relationships with Finance and IT professionals across the globe in order to work effectively and provide assistance to aid their understanding of the required global financial processes

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent professional qualification). Non-qualified accountants may be considered if significant relevant experience of comparable role
* At least 2-3 years' experience within a similar role
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work well on own initiative
* Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels
* Good attention to detail
* Good time management and able to manage multiple workloads

This is a great interim contract with a prestigious and highly successful local employer. Initially working from home, the successful candidate will be required to work in the office once restrictions allow 3 to 4 days per week and so interested candidate must be available to commute to Goole.
