The role will be a mix of remote working and London office when things return to ‘normal’.

 

Working closely with the EMEA Reporting Manager, the EMEA Group Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring that key financial reports are delivered correctly and on a timely basis.

 

EMEA Group Accountant Key Responsibilities:

  • Hyperion data completeness, integrity and administration
  • Responsible for monitoring of non-interfaced data into Hyperion including HFM flat file & ODS files and manual normalisation entries
  • Working on various process improvement projects including balance sheet, treasury and fixed asset reporting and governance
  • Perform all necessary reconciliations to ensure the integrity and completeness of loaded data including normalisation reconciliations and systems misalignment reconciliations (WDY vs HFM vs Essbase) working with stakeholders to support all required remediation actions (Essbase is FP&A)
  • Support the BPO as needed on all reporting deliverables (including monthly & quarterly US requirements plus balance sheet reconciliation progress, open item resolution, item matching, risk & opportunities monitoring, bank open item reduction and reconciliation deep dives)
  • Communicate reporting deliverables on a timely basis and proactively take steps to minimise errors and re-work
  • Collaborate with and support the EMEA Operations Controller and BPO in agreeing operational close deadlines so that all reporting deadlines will be met
  • Prepare full EMEA US GAAP analytics (P&L and balance sheet)
  • Organise & liaise with Global Controllership & Retained teams on Country / Cluster US GAAP analytics

     

Candidate Requirements:

  • Essential: recently qualified accountant, with international group reporting experience including group consolidations and variance analysis. US GAAP reporting experience strongly preferred, IFRS GAAP experience preferred
  • Essential: experience supporting and delivering process improvements in R2R and group reporting – key areas would be the balance sheet reconciliations, treasury (banking) and fixed assets
  • Essential behaviours: effective critical thinking and analytical skills, proven ability to simplify complicated matters, resilient and able to work to deadlines under pressure, proactive, collaborative problem solver. Able to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Essential: knowledge of Hyperion HFM
  • Essential: evidence of strong communication skills across international finance staff both qualified and unqualified in spoken and written English. A further European language an advantage
  • Preferred: experience of partnering retained and outsourced finance staff in an International business environment – within a US listed group preferred
  • Preferred: experience of Group Financial Planning & Analysis & management reporting an advantage
  • Preferred: experience supporting or managing month end close process within a BPO / Shared service model with experience of group and international audits
  • Self sufficient with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Emotionally intelligent and confident working in a fast paced, professional environment
