Assistant Finance Business Partner (CODR & CDAI)

The Opportunity:

Badenoch and Clark are thrilled to be assisting Oxfordshire County Council with the recruitment of 8 new and exciting roles across their Finance team, and need the best people, to help in delivering the next chapter of their story. The Directors are committed to delivering their vision of a Thriving Oxfordshire. As a key enabling service, the Finance Team play a major part, every day, in helping to achieve that vision.

‘Delivering the Future Together’ is their programme for change, to help them become a great place to work and the organisation they want to be. The challenges are stimulating, and the opportunities to make a difference are plenty.

The Finance Team is well respected across the Council and takes great pride in delivering an effective financial strategy, that is supporting innovation & creativity, and driving effective financial management.

The Role:

To be the finance business partnering lead to the Corporate Director for Customers, Organisational Development & Resources, the Corporate Director for Commercial Developments and Assets & Investments.

The successful incumbent will provide professional support, advice and guidance to the Directors, their senior management teams and the Cabinet Portfolio Holders. This will involve providing strategic financial insight, analysis and commercial thinking for decision making, including the validation of the Business & Budget Planning, Financial Monitoring and Final Accounts processes.

What is critically important is the ability to provide an effective business partnering service, that supports the Directorates individually and enables them to achieve excellent financial management and business objectives.

You will have management responsibility for the Management Accountant resource and to identify, commission (through the Assistant Director of Finance), and supervise allocated finance resource to support the ad hoc needs identified with the Directors.

OCC need an individual who will act with authority in the Directorates, on behalf of the Director of Finance, where financial sign off is required and in accordance with the levels set out in the financial scheme of delegation.

Oxfordshire Finance Team is a great team to work for and they have clear values and behaviours that they work to. They are an integral part of the operations at Oxfordshire County Council, and pride themselves on their delivery, standards, and customer service.

If you are hungry and passionate to deliver and improve services, as part of ‘Team Oxfordshire’ we would be delighted to hear from you.
