This Growing Retailer based in Thatcham, Berkshire are looking to recruit a Financial Controller. Reporting to the MD and working as part of the Senior Management Team your primary objective is to lead all Finance & HR operations to ensure insightful and complete financial reporting, robust control processes and all filing obligations are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities of the FC Role:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including tracking performance vs forecasts, budgets and prior year.
- Provide financial insight into all trading activities including up and down stream supplier/customer negotiations and pricing activities.
- Ownership of the preparation of the annual plan/forecast.
- Manage the cash position of the business to ensure full visibility of available funds.
- Review funding options & secure investment to enable the company to win incremental business & realise the ambitious growth plans.
- Business partner with the SLT on best use of company spend in contract negotiations to ensure optimal use of funds.
- Advise the SLT on maximising profitability of our operations through full cost to serve modelling.
- Ensure that all accounting records are correct, up to date and compliant with acceptable accounting standards, including managing the annual statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure that a robust control framework is in place to mitigate risk of fraud.
- Manage the sales and purchase ledgers to ensure correct and timely reporting.
- With the SLT, set & manage Customer Credit Limits.
- Mange the VAT and Intrastat reporting process.
- Oversee the business ERP system & ensure all data is handled in a GDPR compliant manner.
- Manage the payroll process and payments of salaries.
- Ensure that employment records for employees are maintained and correct.
Ideally you will be qualified accountant with strong Excel skills and in return you will receive a salary of between £55k-£65k + EMI scheme.
